Dozens of Animals Seized From Eagle River HomeLester Mendez, 46, and Daniel Hoffman, 50, have been arrested on animal cruelty charges.At least 30 dogs and several parakeets were fseized this afternoon from an Eagle River home, according to the Anchorage Police Department. Lester Mendez, 46, and Daniel Hoffman, 50, have been arrested on animal cruelty charges. Parker said the investigation is ongoing, and animal control officers will work to find the animals new homes after completing their inventory. This is a developing story. |

Were the animals well taken care of? What condition was the home? Why did they take them away? What sort of cruelty? More story please. Just because a landlord calls to report an animal welfare case does not mean the animals were in peril.
