Double Homicide in Mountain ViewPolice won’t release victim ID, cause of death in murdersANCHORAGE - Just 14 days into the New Year, and Anchorage police already have two murders on their hands after two men were found dead Sunday afternoon in the Mountain View apartment they apparently shared. Investigators have been going through the apartment since yesterday. They aren't releasing many details, but they have said they don't have any motive for the crime. That means they don't know if the murders were random, or if the victims might have known their killer. Tonight, APD won't even confirm how the men died. They say there is no suspect in custody. APD will say the evidence at the scene shows it was not a murder-suicide, and that at least one other person—possibly the murderer, but police will not clarify—was at the scene at the time of the murder. “I think somebody out there knows what happened,” APD spokesperson Anita Shell said. “I want that person or persons to come forward… just give us information, that one piece of the puzzle that we have to go on.” “There was at least one other person, if not more, at the scene, and a lot of times people will talk, and those people that they talk to, if they have a conscience, I want them to come forward, tell police what they know,” she said. “We don't know if this is random or if its targeted,” she added, saying “but I would be concerned that we have two people dead, in an apartment, and we don't have anybody in custody for that murder.” |

to put it on someone who didn't do it...so what purpose does that serve? according to a relative they just died...not murdered...he said the door was locked from the INSIDE...but leave it to Alaska to cover up crimes...what is new?

We are curious as to why absolutely no detectives have talked with neighbors. They have had cars sitting around watching but no one is being interviewed as to what they might have seen. A gentleman living right across the street from the murder site watches all day long; he probably saw something. We don't live here by choice; we have to. We live in a dump owned by a slum lord. We do have good neighbors. It is just so sad that all the mayor wants to do is dump all the problem housing, etc., in Mountain View. Mountain View isn't a prison camp - although sometimes it seems that way. It is also made up of a lot of good people down on their luck, trying to survive. These murders will probably go unsolved like most of them do. And - after all - it is only Mountain View according to the mayor. I get the feeling he would like to put up a wall - separate it like a prison or something - and just keep dumping Anchorage's problems over the wall. It is really sad.

"APD will say the evidence at the scene shows it was not a murder-suicide, and that at least one other person—possibly the murderer, but police will not clarify..." ...REALLY?!?!?!?!!! Just maybe the other person was the murderer?!?!?!!! I would think think APD would give out ALL pertinent info (i.e., names of folks, past records, etc...) so people who know the victims can say, "Oh, yeah...that was the guy/girl who ripped off so-&-so...or, I heard someone was looking for one of them. I mean, if they want the public's assistance, how about giving folks relevant info to go from?
