Imagine waking up on Christmas Day in a shelter. For more than 50 children and teens, that will be a reality in a couple of weeks.

Organizers of the Covenant House Alaska Wishlist are asking for your help this Christmas to send a message to each and every child that the community cares and is willing to provide for their future.

Gift cards, winter coats, school and art supplies, toiletries and bus tokens are just some of the items on the wishlist. Organizers say even the smallest token of caring can brighten up the bleakest of circumstances.

Donations can be dropped off at the Crisis Center at 609 F Street 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Find the wishlist here

I gave them 27 pairs of shoes last year and socks. It was something small but each one of those children received a brand new pair of shoes and 2 pairs of socks for Christmas, I received 27 thanks yous. That made my familys' and my Christmas! We always try to help someone either by adopting a family or giving shoes this year we are dropping off food to the Anchorage Rescue Mission and Beans. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
