Question will be on April ballot

On Wednesday, Municipal Clerk Barbara Gruenstein announced her office verified that the One Anchorage campaign had gathered a sufficient number of registered voters' signatures for the equal rights initiative to be on April's ballot.

The question “Shall the current Municipal Code sections providing legal protections against discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, marital status, age, physical disability, and mental disability be amended to include protections on the basis of sexual orientation or transgender identity?” will be on the ballot at the April 3 election.

The initiative follows a 2009 veto by Mayor Dan Sullivan of a similar change to municipal code. The assembly, which passed the ordinance, did not have the supermajority 8 votes required to overturn the veto.

They mean special rights don't they? Who is going to know if someone is gay or trans unless they tell you?
