ANCHORAGE -Just as the city recovers from last week's windstorm, there could be yet another one this weekend. But the question is, are we ready?

“Right now it’s only been one week since the last one, so it’s a little hard to get ready,” said Pierre Clairmont.

Many continue to pick up the pieces from last Tuesday's massive windstorm, while another is set to hit Southcentral Saturday afternoon. Most local residents said it's a little hard to get ready when they are still working.

Hurricane-force gusts of wind, up to 100 miles an hour, could hit higher elevations.

“Portable generators are great,” said Robert Ditmer, of Home Depot. “Also that way you don't have a lot of expense on getting one; you can still have those initial things powered up ."

Pierre Clairmont said he relied on his travel trailer to get through the windstorm, then he got power on Friday - three days after after the winds knocked it out. Pierre agrees life is a lot nicer with electricity.

With the threat of another windstorm two days away, time is running out to prepare for the next one.

Don't waste your money on the garbage generators at Home Depot or Lowes. If it isn't Honda or other high quality, you'll get maybe 20 hours use before it's toast. Hope that kid in the report gets his chain sharpened! Gonna take him forever if he has to cut a real tree.
