Charity Game Draws In NBA Players To Anchorage

Alaska basketball fans will soon benefit from the NBA’s lockout. As the league continues to hammer out negotiations, professional players are making sure their skills are sharp, and some athletes are making their way to Alaska for a charity game

The Sullivan Arena will host a charity basketball game with 19 NBA players on Thursday, December 1. Alaska Hoops and the Mario Chalmers Foundation present the All-Pro Charity Game.

Mario Chalmers, a former Bartlett High School graduate, and Carlos Boozer, a former Juneau-Douglas High School graduate, are among the featured professional players.

The other pros include: Brandon Rush, Terrence Williams, Julian Wright, Marcus Morris, Markieff Morris, Eric Gordon, Nate Robinson, Dexter Pittman, John Wall, Cole Aldrich, Spencer Hawes, Deandre Jordan, James Harden, Daequan Cook, Michael Beasley, Iman Shumpert, and Chris Bosh.

Ticket proceeds will benefit Alaska Hoops, an organization supporting kids’ athletics in Alaska and the Mario Chalmers Foundation, which helps kids’ athletics and breast cancer research.
Ticket prices range from $25 to $150 for courtside seats and are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Mario and Carlos: welcome home and thank you for helping the charities which will benefit. I have my tickets and am looking forward to seeing you play in person as I've never lived close enough to attend a game.
