Alaska is beautiful and if your an outdoors kind of person you will appreciate it! However, because we are all joined here because of the ARMY we all come from all walks of life and that makes it different for everyone. Being an Army wife for me is a wonderful experience because I have been fortunate not to have my husband deployed in the 5 yrs weve been married, he has been deployed in the past during his career. I feel for the wives that have children and are raising them alone for a long period of time. I know it's not easy, Im an older mom and wife so I give a lot of advice on marriage, parenthood and tolerance of life's ups & downs. I love Alaska and the time I get to live here, this is an awesome opportunity for us wives to show our appreciation and respect for our men in uniform!!!

What about the Air Force Spouses in the area? I mean Ft. Wainright backs into Eielson AFB and many members of the Air Force at Eielson are always tasked to Deploy in place of Army personnel. Also Ft. Richardson is now a joint base with Elmendorf AFB and their personnel also share in the joint Army/AF deployments. Also, I'm worried about the troops overseas that happens to watch whats going on while deployed and the show "presents" a scandal with one of the wives. As a former AF NCO with a spouse and deployments under my belt, I can assure you that would prove very problemsom with the deployed active duty member. Be very careful how this is portrayed or you'll destroy someones life and unit morale.

good luck Stephanie and don't let people like "stop hollywood" stand in your way. People like that here are a bunch of whiners and think AK is the only great state in the USA. I hope you get your support from the Army wives!!!

I think this is a good idea. I watch army wives all the time and YouTube myself when my husband deploys and my dads a general . Tough life but worth it. I think this will be a good idea for the men and girl wives here in AK.

Hi everyone-- thank you for your interest in our show-- I'm the Executive Producer and co-owner of 44 Blue Productions, the company that is developing the series. I'm also an Army Brat myself-- my dad was career military, 82nd and 173rd Airborne Infantry. In fact, when he was deployed to Korea and Vietnam, we lived in Anchorage, which was my mom's hometown. This project has been a passion of mine and my company's for several years, and we are honored and excited that the US Army is supporting the project and our efforts to tell the stories of military families and spousesw. We want to share the stories of resilience, resourcefulness, sisterhood and sacrifice...as well as the adventure and unique lifestyle of military families-- especially those in Alaska! We thank you and your spouses for your service to our country and hope we can do you justice with our series.

If this TV show follows the path of most real housewives it will be an embarrassment to the military.Just look at all of the rest of the real housewives series they are a joke. Not mention the fact they make the women look vain, stupid and greedy

As having a military history that goes back to Civil War in my family-it sounds like you could be one of the 'wives"that should be representing!

I just hope that the wives are actually involved in the Fairbanks community and not hold up in their house on post 24/7 like a lot of people I know.

I can only pray that this show will not follow suite like other reality "wives" shows and make Army wives look like petty, in mature women and instead show the strength and courage that we have and the honor all military family members have in standing beside those we love. I will be disgusted if this is in fact a negative light on military families and the company should feel very ashamed if that is the intent.
