Anchorage police say a young boy who was pulled from underwater at a West High School pool during open swim on Friday night has survived.

A person at the pool tells KTVA that a young boy was found underwater and pulled from the pool by by-standers and a lifeguard.

The unidentified boy was taken to a local hospital where he has remained since the incident.

His condition remains unknown and there is no word yet on exactly how the incident happened.
