FRAZIER PARK, CA - Last year, we told you about a pack of 30 wolf-dogs in bad need of a rescue from Alaska. Tonight, those animals have a new home here in California… and a celebrity to thank for it.

Alaska Wildlife Troopers said the owner of Wolf Country USA in Palmer was not complying with a state law that bans owning wolf hybrids, and he’s now under criminal investigation. That frightened animal rights activists in California, because the animals would have been killed – but a celebrity came to the rescue. Bob Barker, the former game show host famous for encouraging viewers to get their pets spayed or neutered.

Barker funded the rescue of the wolf-dogs, which were relocated to Lockwood Animal Rescue, north of Los Angeles.

The owner of Wolf Country USA in Alaska has not been charged or arrested.

According to Barker, all of the wolf-dogs were spayed and neutered after their rescue.
