UPDATE: The man, Floyd Doyle, was arrested and charged with misconduct involving weapons; police say he was intoxicated and in possession of a firearm.

ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police say a man is standing in the middle of the O'Malley Road and Lake Otis Parkway intersection pointing what appears to be a rifle at them. They have shut down the area to all types of traffic. No evacuations are being conducted at this time. Police say they received a 911 call at 3 p.m. this afternoon for a man brandishing a long gun.

Anchorage School District officials say students were already dismissed for the day. However, they said buses may be delayed getting students home due to the many detours. Motorists in and around the area are experience significant traffic delays. No injuries are being reported at this time.
