ANCHORAGE - The mayor of Anchorage's sister city in Australia is in town this week as part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the friendship between the communities.

Katrina Fong lim, known as the Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Darwin, Australia, was invited to Anchorage by Mayor Dan Sullivan.

Wednesday she joined Sullivan for a concert in Peratrovich Park downtown.

Like Sullivan, she is also the child of a former mayor of her city.

And Darwin and Anchorage also have similar economic drivers, including tourism, oil and gas, and the military.

"We're very much into the great outdoors. You have moose and bears, and we have crocodiles and kangaroos. So there's a lot of hunting and fishing – more fishing than hunting in the Northern Territory. We have some great game fishing," the Lord Mayor said.

Darwin, the capital of Australia’s Northern Territory, was named for the father of the theory of evolution, Charles Darwin.
