Click the video at left to hear audio from the Keyes incident ANCHORAGE - At a federal court hearing for Israel Keyes, the man charged in the kidnapping and death of barista Samantha Koenig, Keyes leaped over the railing and into the gallery before being subdued by court personnel and others. Around 2 p.m. Wednesday, Keyes' attorney was explaining the defense's position on the timing of the trial when Keyes jumped the rail. Keyes vaulted to the second row of the gallery, heading in the direction of the courtroom door when about five or six people wrestled him to the ground. He was then tasered and handcuffed and the room was cleared: "Kill him!" said one woman wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with Samanatha Koenig's picture. While Keyes was restrained when he first entered the courtroom, his handcuffs were removed before the hearing began and a spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service said the defendant also broke through his leg irons sometime before or during the struggle.

Hey Robin Scheff- FBI and Texas police did all the work, NOT APD. My opinion stands- they are as stupid as whoever decided to uncuff a murder suspect antwhere outside of a jail cell.

well then that needs an audit - I would get ahold of Hollis French - ask if they can do this? AST is known to "frame" a kid...happened in 02' for a knik road incident - dead girl found...same with Houston! There is a dept that deals with validity of charges!

Someone commented about how stupid it was to take his handcuffs off and then that person also commented in a negative way about the APD. Well the APD and FBI teamed up and found her body, and found this scumbag, and if it weren't for their excellent, yes EXCELLENT police work Samantha would never have been found. So shut up. Now, I have to admit the thought of Keyes being tasered is appealing to my dark side. It's wrong to want vengence, and it's usually smarter to leave that all up to God, but when the article stated Keyes had tried to escape and was tasered, I smiled. I'm smiling right now thinking about it.

Even if he didn't do this crime, he would still have plenty of motive to leave. This crime makes him death penalty qualified if the US Attorney can clear that through the Justice Department. Some people never get it: real men don't hurt women! Real women don't hurt men either.

he needs to leave Alaska to receive a fair hearing, Alaska is a close knit community; therefore, something so shocking as Samantha's Murder makes a lot of people want to inflict the same pain on him. We are prejudice. I dont like him for what he did and i dont even know Samantha
