I am so tired of parents saying that their children are bored in school. If you are unhappy with the education you are offered, put your child in home school - correspondence and push them to excel. School is much like everything else in life, you get out of it what you put into it. So tired of whining parents.

Take personal responsibility for your kids' education! My kids aren't the smartest or the most gifted, but I work with them and instill the idea that they must work hard to get ahead, so they work hard to learn what they're expected to learn. School is a privilege many kids don't have, but so many adults treat it like group babysitting, it's no wonder their kids don't learn anything.

We need to institute mandatory drug testing for all ASD employees. I knew a female teacher that was addicted to heroin and smoked pot often. She said it was prevalent throughout the district. Also when teachers get caught dealing they shoudl be fired, not transfered to HQ.

must be the high property tax we pay, school district sees to much money shoved in thier faces and want more , so they twiddle their thumbs playing dumb until our taxes are raised again so they can make more and more money, notice how our property taxes are sky rocketing, and another thing,ADN sure does not like how one speakes their mind on comment site.

I believe that we should go back to survival of the fittest. All no child left behind does is have teachers focus on standardized test rather than individual achievement... should be renamed the "pump em out conveyor belt of mediocrity"- or "most children kept at average" (notice the ones that were behind are still behind???)

I'd have to agree that No Child Left Behind has totally led to the dumbing down of our schools, especially at the elementary level. My kids have been so bored! And I have had to resort to enrolling them in science camps during the summer, because they basically don't teach it in elementary school anymore. I also make them do math at home, because it just moves so slowly in the classroom. But you can only do so much extra "at home" work, after seven long hours at school. No Child Left Behind needs to be totally re-vamped, or completely thrown out. You are never ever going to get 100% proficiency, and only an idiot like George Bush ever believed that you could.

Classes are so boring.. and so to-the-test oriented that I couldn't stand it. I slept through the majority of my classes, though this was also due to schedule conflicts. School, dance, work, and tae kwon do every day can really exhaust someone. My homework? It was never done. I never had time if I wanted to catch at least a few hours of sleep before I was up and around again. My average my senior year? Four hours. Tone down the homework, back off the test scores. Really /teach/ us something we can use no matter what we do with our lives. Most of what I learned I barely remember because it doesn't apply to anything. Screw the A, B, C, D scores. Tests tell us nothing. Ask us what we /know/ and we'll tell you. Education's so screwed over, now..

When the school district has high school counselors that practice favoritism, it is no wonder that kids drop out from frustration when they can not get the help they are begging for.
