A routine call in East Anchorage quickly turned into a possible homocide investigation late last night.

Anchorage police first responded to reports of a disturbance on the 200 block of Newall Street shortly before 11:30 p.m Wednesday.

When they arrived at the residence, they found an unresponsive older male, and were unable to revive him with an automated external defibrillator or CPR.

While there where no immediate signs of foul play, the case is under investigation by APD homocide detectives and crime scene investigators.

Anchorage is aweful. I can't stand being there for more than 2 days. I live in rural Alaska, so I'm there just long enough to hit Wal Mart, and whatever else I need. My little sister just moved back to Alaska, and decided to live in Anchorage. I'm so afraid she may be in the wrong place at the wrong time or something... I bought a new red sweatshirt when I was in Anchorage last trip. My friend advised me not to wear it, because I "might get shot". When did Anchorage become so ghetto?

The homeless i dont believe are a suspicious death...most of them DRINK themselves to death i feel for their families but why should our tax dollars go to fixing THEIR problems? we dont force them to drink they choose to. dont believe me walk down 13th from ingra to gamble you'll see.. i have to hear them and see them all the time they dont care about us. the way i look at it .. why should we care about them.. the homeless DRUNKS that is. THEY choose this life.

If you find living in the Anchorage bowl so like a toilet, why don't you pack your bags and leave. I am sure you will find many states in the lower 48 that you may find far more appealing to your life style? Usually its the criminal element that complains about the local police. If your so disgusted with them get involved and join the police FORCE and CLEAN IT UP!

While there where no immediate signs of foul play, the case is under investigation by APD homocide detectives and crime scene investigators. This is from the article above, yet the lead says the APD is investagating a suspicious death? HUH? We've had homeless people dropping dead this past year like flies, yet no suspicious deaths ---HUH?
