ANCHORAGE - If you're not into fighting the big crowds and are looking for a unique local gift, the Anchorage Museum could be the place for you this weekend.

It’s the 24th year of the Crafts Weekend, which started Friday morning and is expected to draw thousands of people over the next two days.

“And it's all made in Alaska so we're supporting local people and they do wonderful stuff and you can get beautiful gifts,” said holiday shopper Patty Ginsburg.

Around 50 artists from the Last Frontier have set up booths in the museum -- which has free entry all weekend.

There’s everything from woodwork and jewelry to hats and scarves to glass sculptures and paintings.

“They are wonderful gift ideas and it's just great to keep our money in Alaska to boost our economy, and that's why I do this,” said shopper Lorraine Krueger.
