Anchorage resident Daniel K. Baumgartner, 26, faces three child pornography charges after police uncovered “hundreds of images” of child sexual abuse in his home.

Baumgartner was arrested Wednesday at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.   The month long investigation, run by the Alaska Internet Crimes Against Children task force, began in April when Baumgartner sent illicit images of child sexual abuse to an undercover detective.   After serving a search warrant on Baumgartner’s home, investigators seized several computers and other digital media containing both pictures and video.   Police said some of the videos were more than an hour long.  Baumgartner has been charged with one count of distribution and two counts of possession of child pornography.  This is a developing story.
