Alaska State Troopers Rule Eklutna Death a HomicideLoy Suthammavong, 30, was reported missing from his Houston home in December 2011ANCHORAGE - The body of a man found near Eklutna Lake Tuesday has been identified as Loy Suthammavong, 30. Alaska State Troopers have ruled the death a homicide, and said Suthammavong was reported missing from his Houston home in December 2011. On December 6, his vehicle had been found burned in South Anchorage, and Anchorage firefighters and police determined the blaze was arson. Suthammavong had been convicted of two felony drug offenses and was preparing to begin his sentence when he disappeared, and troopers said they believed from the outset of the case he had met with criminal violence. Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters declined to reveal whether the cause of death has been determined. |

To the person who said they would be happy to die at eklutna.. This fella was in a blue tarp at the bottom of a gorge. Not romantic or anything

Eklutna is a beauty to behold... I should be so lucky to die there with the lake and mountains nearby... although this young man might have preferred to die in the sight of his ancestors on his home island.. he was fortunate enough to die at the sacred Eklutna site. A terrible way to exit this life is to gasp it out in a local hospital that is going to keep you alive till your insurance runs out... oh they say it they will keep you comfortable in the last days of your life... but a bullet to the head seems a lot more humane than what your health care providers have in mind for you.... watch your backtrails and don't trust the medical profession when they say they will keep you comfortable... comfortable to me is not being conscious of anything... ask your health care provider if this is what they mean when they say 'comfortable?'

Life is what it is. That might seem an odd statement, but I know people who to them, this is a normal day at the office. Why? Haven't a clue, friend. Be good: Stay safe.

No matter his past, this was a terrible way to exit this world. Prayers to his family, here and abroad.
