Paratrooper Jeffrey Lee White Jr. Died April 3

ANCHORAGE – Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) soldier Specialist Jeffrey Lee White Jr. paratrooper, died April 3.

White died of injuries sustained from an improvised explosive device in Khowst Province, Afghanistan while on patrol, according to the Army.

Five others were injured as well.

The 21-year-old joined the Army in October 2009 and was assigned to 1st Battalion (Airborne), 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division and came to Alaska in April of 2010.

The next of kin have been notified.

A ceremony for White will be held at JBER, but information on when has not been released.

our thoughts and prayers go out to the white family, and personally thank jeffery for the act of heroism that took his life, may god bless him and his family.
