Alaskan soldier Bowe Bergdahl, 25, who is believed to still be held by the Taliban, was promoted for the second time since his capture in Afghanistan last June; he now holds the rank of sergeant.

Bergdahl was serving with the parachute infantry regiment of the 425th based out of Fort Richardson when he was captured.

The U.S. Army announced his promotion Friday, however the soldier is still listed as missing-captured.

The Taliban last acknowledged that they were holding the national guardsman last December in a video.
