An independent and transparent audit of the State of Alaska Dept. of Military & Veterans Affairs & Homeland Security should be called for. The arrogance of the NG leadership regarding how this situation has been handled is astonishing. It's clear that they did not want this to go public, and probably for good reason. This reflects poorly upon General's Craig Campbell and Thomas Katkus, their senior staff, and the Executive Administrator of the Family Services program, who allowed this situation to go on as long as it did. The question is whether the leadership of that organization, as well as the Governor, will look deeper to ferret out any remaining bad apples, or if they'll just continue to sweep this under the rug.

As someone who knows the accused, I have to say he is a loose cannon and a bs artist extraordinaire. Who is responsible? No one, of course.

This situation is indicative on the entire culture of the Alaska National Guard from top to bottom. A comprehensive investigation of the sexual assaults, sexual harassment, wrongful use of aircraft, and misuse of public funds by that have been swept under the rug by senior members of the organization should occur.
