University Lake in Midtown Anchorage has recently seen a series of beaver-on-dog encounters that left nearly six dogs injured and area beavers more aggressive than ever.
Alaska Department of Fish and Game officials say the beavers are simply guarding their dams built from the trees and vegetation up and down Campbell Creek. But, the beavers’ home improvement projects have contributed to a raised water level and basement flooding east of Muldoon Road. Fish and Game officials say the beavers are generally left alone unless the animals are causing major flooding or are dropping trees near power lines, houses or cars. A sign now greets lake patrons warning of the beavers’ more aggressive behavior. |

If your making your home next to creeks & rivers, your seller should have made you aware of the possibilites of floods. Also all the low-lying areas where they(builders) see dollars.Your dollars. While, Mr. Beaver resides right down from you.
