APD Investigates Human Remains Found at Eklutna Lake (UPDATED)
It's unclear whether death investigation is related to any recent cases, police said
EKLUTNA—Anchorage police investigated on Tuesday evening what appeared to be human remains on Eklutna Lake Road, which was closed for six hours during the death investigation.
A snow-shoer spotted the remains and called police at about 5 p.m., said APD spokesperson Lieutenant Dave Parker, who said it’s unclear whether foul play was suspected in the death.
"He [snow-shoer] told me when he went by the body, the first time, he really didn't notice it and he thought it might be an animal carcass, but then he took a closer look and realized it was human," said Parker.
As of last night police were unable to determine if the remains were that of a male or female, but as of Wednesday morning it has been confired the remains are male.
