Amber Alert: Cancelled, Teen FoundThe Anchorage Police Department says it has found 18-year-old Maisee Moua.
The Anchorage police department says it has found Maisee Moua, 18, and has cancelled its Amber Alert.
Officers say they have taken Moua, and the man who was reported to have taken her from her south Anchorage home, Yang Lee, 20, to APD headquarters for questioning. APD says Moua is unharmed, but released few other details. A garbled and largely indiscernible Amber Alert was sent over Alaska airwaves alerting residents of the possible kidnapping of an Anchorage teen at around 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday. The Anchorage Police Department reported that Maisee Moua, 18, and was kidnapped by 20-year-old Yang Lee shortly before the alert was broadcasted over radio and television airwaves. Initial reports from Anchorage police couldn’t peg down the girl’s age—originally her age was reported as 18, then 17, then 16 years of age, before it was finally confirmed that she is 18 years old. Anchorage police released a photo nearly an hour after the Amber Alert was sent out. Moua was taken from her home at 1200 West Dimond Blvd. She was seen leaving the area in a white 2005 Saturn Vue with the license plate number GCA157. Police said there were possibly four people in the vehicle. Officers say they are investigating the details surrounding Moua's apparent abduction, but have not made any arrests. |

I am glad that they found her and she wasn't in harms way. I think it was a great job done by APD putting out the Amber Alert. It was garbled and a little confusing not know the age of the girl, but still it was a great job putting it out as fast as they did. They had the licence plate number of the vehicle so anyone driving could. I am glad that everything turned out ok and that we can all rest assure that the Amber Alert system in Alaska does work. Great Job done by APD!

Good heads-up by her sister for reporting something that just didn't look right.
