A seven-year-old girl is in critical but stable condition after an unidentified man attacked her in an attempt to steal her bike, according to Anchorage police.

A seven-year-old girl is in critical but stable condition after an unidentified man attacked her in an attempt to steal her bike, according to Anchorage police.

Marlene Lammers, a police spokesperson, said the incident occurred at the 3300 block of Eide Street in Midtown on Sunday around 5 p.m.

Lammers said the young girl was beaten and critically injured and is receiving treatment at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
