I feel really bad about the seven year old girl but I also have to wonder where the parent or gaurdians were that they let a seven year old ride alone in the streets. Where were the PARENTS????

Yeah, it's a sad day and age... I won't let my ten year old go outside alone unless she's in MY front yard, and then I have the blinds open.

This is the outcome when the Governor and Mayor lack the backbone to keep our streets, bus shelters and parks safe for children, by inforcing a no loitering law in a state that needs it.Allowing many sex offenders and abusers to "hangout"loiter" side by side with women and children in public places ,there have been more attacks, just not printed, wakeup Mayor and do something . It will happen again, they are partially to blame.

The parents where right inside the house. The whole building was home, and we all knew she was out there playing, we where all keeping watch, She was in the drive way when she was attacked, and we have all been taken surprised by this random act of violence against our baby! Don't comment unless you know the family, and know what is going on. We are all out raged, we are all worried and we all want her to come home safely

I'll be very surprised if he isn't beaten severely by his fellow inmates.

I have complained and complained about all the homeless camps and the danger to mothers and children they pose. Absolutly to a man nobody listens. The homeless have more rights than a renter being evicted. What the heck is the matter with our police and court system when this happens?Too busy feeling up children at airports, too busy hireing illigal aliens, covering up for drunk driveing cops who hit and run. Too busy attacking young women in their substations.Get out there where you are needed. It,s a dirty job but it,s their job.I ride the bike trails where anybody looking can see a dozen filthy homeless camps any day of the week. Where are the police mon bikes patroling the trails and parks on bikes? Get your donut eating butt out there and ride a bike on the trail.Driveing arround in your shiny new car isn,t enough. You have the bikes and you aren,t that out of shape. Just lazy no other explination

IJ, did you ever leave your parent's sight when you were a kid? If so, would your parents have been at fault if some wack job attacked you? Please think before you post.

Poor, poor baby. Prayers for the child and her family. For the staff caring for her, and for the person who did this. Heart wrenching.

Anyone who tries to lay this at the feet of the parents is an idiot. How about blaming the animal that attacked the girl, our judicial system for letting him run loose (no way was this his first offense), and society for not beating him senseless on the spot? Until we start standing up for ourselves, we're going to keep on seeing these kinds of things happen. The police only show up AFTER the crime has already happened. To prevent crime takes all of us. If we can't let our kids ride their bikes without an armed escort, its our own fault for putting up with it.
