5 Teens Involved in Vehicle Rollover in Birchwood; 1 in Critical Condition

One male teenager is in critical condition this morning after the vehicle he was in rolled over multiple times in Birchwood.

One male teenager is in critical condition this morning after the vehicle he was in flipped and landed on its roof, descending a 15-foot embankment at North Birchwood Loop Road and Aurora Lane near the Birchwood airport.

There were four males and one female inside the Ford Escort when it rolled at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday; all five teens are believed to be students at schools in the Chugiak and Eagle River area, according to Anchorage Police Department spokesperson Lt. Dave Parker.

Driving the car was 18-year-old Jesse Contreras with passengers Ciara Akers, 16, Tyler Schaf, 17, Brendan Weaver-Rocha, 18, and Jonathon Parsons, 18.

Contreras, Akers and Weaver-Rocha were taken to a hospital by ambulance; Parsons did not require medical treatment, and Schaf was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition, according to Parker.

The rollover remains under investigation.

More teenagers.. Were they speeding,was it drugs or drinking?Hope all survive and learned a lesson if it was one of the above.
