Three Anchorage men were put behind bars Sunday night after breaking into a Mountain View home and violently attacking one of the people inside during a robbery, according to Anchorage police.

At 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a home invasion call on the 3300 block of Tarwater Avenue.

Police report that three men forced their way into the Mountain View apartment, pistol-whipped one man in the face, demanded money and threatened to shoot the four people inside, including a baby.

Raymond Thomas, 19, Cedrius Carter, 26, and L.C Shelton Whitlow, 35, were arraigned on charges of robbery, burglary, kidnapping, misconduct involving weapons, assault and conspiracy.
Also, because of a recent change to state law, all three men were denied bail.

Judge Brock Shamberg told the suspects that “no combination of factors that can be set as conditions of your bail that would adequately protect the public and protect the victims in this case."

The suspects are scheduled to be back in court July 12.

Police are also pursuing a fourth person suspected to be the getaway driver.

If you have any information on where this person might be, contact Anchorage police at 786-8900 or, to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward, call Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP (7867).

Mountain View, the South Central Los Angeles right here in Anchorage. I live on a street right on the corner of deparr across from the hospital. Every single night starting around six 7 PM so around their all through the night feeling or police cars roaring down debarr to Mountain View. And on the weekends it's even worse. Anchorage builds a wall around Mountain View that they did in the movie "escape from New York city" and nobody gets in and nobody gets out. Why the Anchorage Police Department doesn't have a police station there is beyond me. It seems that's where most of the crimes in Anchorage happen. I was transferred up your from Southern California and I thought it was bad there that I thought Alaska, Anchorage would be a really nice place to live. But it's going downhill slower and slower just like the rest of the country getting worse and worse. I can't wait to my time is up and I'll be back down to California.

Sorry about the mistakes in my message, comment. I'm just about ready to give up on his speech recognition software. It's becoming very frustrating and embarrassing.

Sorry about the errors in my last comment. This speech recognition software just isn't doing the job. It's frustrating and embarrassing. Think it's time to toss it out the window.

LAndlords can help to clean up Mountainview by simply do criminal background check and not rent to those with criminal records. If they can not find housing, they will leave the state before the first snow. The state could provide free one way ticket to those who came to Alaska seeking jobs and run out of money with nowhere to go. Many of these people are living rent free with friends and relatives and many of these cases are in Mountainview area. In the long run, it's cheaper to send the bad apples down south than to feed and house them in jail.
