Anchorage police officers arrested three men in an attempted burglary early Saturday morning at a Mt. View apartment.

Around 3:45 a.m., officers say a group of black men used weapons to threaten and gain access into a home off the 3300 block of Tarwater Avenue where they demanded money and pistol-whipped a man in the face.

Witnesses say the men were chased on foot and shots were exchanged but no one was struck.

Police were able to apprehend three of the four men involved.

Raymond Thomas, 19, L.C. Shelton Whitlow III, 35, and Cedrius Carter, 26, were taken into custody and charged with robbery, burglary, kidnapping, and assault charges, however, police are actively searching for a fourth person suspected to be the getaway driver.

Mountain View will always be a crime area that's why i never did like mountain view....I use to live on Bunn street and in Fairview.but never again.I had friends get shot and killed awhile back ago....They need to clean up Anchorage and get all those different nationalities that are there starting trouble for people out in Anchorage.

This happened 2 nights ago and its just now making the news? What they arent saying is there were 5 shots fired by the criminals. I live in Mountain View and they were so loud we actually hit the living room floor in fear of being shot. Mountain View is the worst neighborhood in Anchorage but I cant afford to live in a better neighborhood.

Cedrius Carter, 26 was the driver in the car that held the Tennessee murderer a month or so back. Google it if you don't beleive me.

Back in the 60's Mountain View was a nice division. Seems it's over--run with gangs and violence now.
