ANCHORAGE - A musher, Matt Giblin, from the 2012 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race has been disqualified for his 38th place finish, and must return the $1,049 each musher who finishes the Iditarod receives.

He tested positive for THC, but unsuccessfully appealed the sanctions. The race's Rule 30 states "positive results on drug or alcohol tests administered during a Race are each prohibited," and that violations of the policy will result in disqualification.

Straight Shooter, Yes, smoke in the privacy of your own home...but the rules of the race clearly state that mushers are not allowed to have it in their system. Nice try...

fact is marijuana is legal to use in the privacy of ones own home in Alaska.you may have up to 24 plants and up to 4 ounces for personal use. there is no tests that can prove he was under the influence of marijuana at the time he raced, and it is not a performance enhancing drug anyway. just because he tested positive don't mean he was high. he could have smoked a week prior to his test and still come up positive. what a crock to test for drugs anyway.
