2 Fairbanks-Based Soldiers Killed, 7 Injured in Afghanistan Explosion

All of the soldiers killed and injured belong to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division based at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska.

An improvised explosive device killed two Fort Wainwright-stationed soldiers and injured seven other soldiers in southern Afghanistan Sunday (11:35 a.m. Afghanistan time) while conducting a dismounted patrol.

All of the soldiers killed and injured belong to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division based at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The names of the soldiers killed during the explosion will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
