Woman Dead After Fleeing from Troopers46-year-old Zoe Ivanoff fled after she was cited for driving with a revoked licenseALASKA – A 46-year-old Unalakleet woman is dead after she sped away from troopers in her Nissan Pathfinder early Tuesday morning. Zoe Ivanoff was pulled over at mile 47 of the Seward Highway, and troopers based out of Crown Point found her with a revoked drivers license, for which she was issued a summons. According to troopers, while they waited for roughly an hour for a tow truck, Ivanoff remained in her vehicle. Around 4 a.m. she fled from officers in her car, causing the troopers to engage in pursuit. Alaska troopers lost sight of her, but found her car ten minutes later off the side of the road and Ivanoff ejected and deceased. Troopers attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful. Ivanoff's body has been sent to the medical examiner's office and next of kin have been notified. |

I know hindsight is 20/20, and this one was definitely hard to see coming, but why was she allowed to stay in the vehicle? Even if they took the keys, didn't they think about the possibility of another key? I see this as poor judgement on the part of the troopers, but there is probably more to the story. Just goes to show, you can't be too careful...
