A Channel 2 reporter was fired after allegedly having an inappropriate conversation with a minor online.

KTUU President and General Manager Andy MacLeod put out a statement Tuesday saying:

“Late Friday, Channel 2 was made aware of inappropriate online communications allegedly involving one of our employees, Daniel Fiorucci. We immediately notified Anchorage police so they could investigate the matter. Channel 2 immediately ended Mr. Fiorucci’s employment.”

On October 15 an organization called Predator Hunters posted a transcript of a conversation on its website under the headline “Daniel Fiorucci.”

The conversation takes place between what appears to be a 14-year-old girl from New York and a man with the username HippoPrez, who later in the chat identifies himself as Dan Fiorucci.

In the beginning the girl says she’s 14 and Fiorucci calls her “jailbait,” but he then continues the conversation repeatedly telling her how beautiful she is and saying he’d like to spank her and buy her lingerie.

At one point he tells her “flirting isn’t a crime.” While the Anchorage Police Department can’t talk about this case specifically, Lieutenant Dave Parker says online conversations with minors can be illegal if they’re of a sexual nature.

“There are certain things like sexual content of that chat or the attempted enticement of a child to commit sex acts... or the transmission of child pornography -- things like that that are very illegal and are prosecuted with great regularity,” said Parker.

Also posted on the Predator Hunter website is a phone call between what seems to be the girl’s father and Dan Fiorucci while he’s at work at Channel 2.

Here’s an excerpt:

Caller: You said you want to meet my daughter?

Fiorucci: It was stupid, I completely apologize, it was wrong.

Caller: You're going to kiss her on her panties and see if she fights back?

Fiorucci: No.

Caller: I can see it, I'm looking at it right now!

Fiorucci: It was wrong sir and I do apologize.

Caller: God damn right it was wrong. How old are you?

Fiorucci: I'm 40.

Caller: You're 40?! My daughter is 14!

Fiorucci: I made a stupid mistake and I do apologize.

The Anchorage Police Department says it can not say anything else about the case or whether Fiorucci will face any charges.

You guys who are quick to defend him make me suspect YOU too. Obviously, his intent WAS to "talk to" and seduce a child. He stated that quite clearly in his chat with her. Don't go defending him because "there was no daughter and there was no dad". If he didn't get caught by this adult posing as a child, he'd have hit on a real child as was his intent. That detective posing as the 14 year old girl may have saved your OWN daughter or niece.

I think you only ran this story because this guy works at your competition. Although his actions were disguting and he deserves to be punished - there were no criminal charges filed so really, other than you taking the opportunity to call out Channel 2 - what was the point?

What's the APD going to do? "online conversations with minors can be illegal if they’re of a sexual nature" She was an adult posing as a minor! There was no minor involved. The dude may be creepin' around the internet, but that doesn't make him a criminal.

The dad is the same person posing as the girl. There is no girl and there is no dad.

Lucky the dad is in NY, if it was my daughter I'd be having that conversation with my hand on his throat!
