ANCHORAGE - Alejandro Aulman, 25, was in court Tuesday facing 20 charges, including counts of felony theft, robbery, assault and burglary. He's been in police custody since January 15, the date Anchorage police said his two-week crime spree came to an end. Aulman’s next crime came mere hours later, when he robbed a Subway restaurant in the Taku/Campbell area. A day later, he targeted a downtown Pizza Hut. A week later, he robbed an Extended Stay Hotel on Sixth Avenue. And then, two days later, an East Anchorage Burger King. In all four robberies, APD had a similar description to the suspect in the initial home invasion: “He was described as a Hispanic male, about 5’6”, 185 pounds. He was wearing a black beanie and also had a hoodie over his head, and he had a black t-shirt pulled up over his face,” APD spokesperson Anita Shell said in a story KTVA reported on January 2. Shell added that the description included a suspect in his twenties. But police insisted that the crimes weren't related. In an interview with KTVA on January 11—after four robberies and the initial home invasion—Shell said “witness statements can vary from person to person. Regardless, we're looking at whoever may have done this, and we are investigating each of these three [robberies] as separate incidents, until we can link them.” Then came another violent home invasion in Airport Heights, where Shell said Aulmen allegedly “beat the woman so severely that she had facial fractures.” Still, APD told reporters the crimes weren't linked. Then police changed their story on January 15, with Aulman’s arrest. “The final crime that he committed was against a woman who had accepted a ride,” Shell said, adding that the woman did not know her assailant. “During the ride, he tried to steal her purse, and a struggle ensued, and he produced a gun and she was shot in the hand” and, Shell added, the victim was pistol-whipped in the face. “Ultimately we made that arrest, and again, evidence linked him to the other seven crimes [for a total of eight].” Today Shell said detectives were connecting the crimes from the beginning, “probably within the first week… [of] January.” “We started seeing similarities and gathering evidence that led us down the road that this may in fact just be the act of one individual.” Police said they used security camera footage to identify Aulman's white SUV, and that when they found a bullet hole in the windshield—and blood from the woman who he had shot in the hand pooled inside—they took him into custody. |

Evidently "arnold" didn't get the message. APD SOLVED 8 felony crimes and put an extremely violent man in jail. APD just helped a whole lot of victims by bringing closure to crimes committed against them. Sleep well Anchorage; your police force is working FOR you. And a note to the criminal element, your police force doesn't sleep.

LAPD, I mean APD fails again Is their anything APD can do right? They haven't solved any of the crimes where I was a victims and only made everyones life worse. Why not fire the whole police force to save the city some money. I know I'd be safer with a gun then with APD.

Yep, he thought he was a tough guy. Thought a gun instantly made him a tough guy, and he could simply bully everyone. Then he found that no matter how much folks trash talk APD, the Officers still going to do their job.

This guy looks white. How was he described as hispanic by the victims? Maybe some accent
