14-Year-Old Dies from Heroin OverdoseAfter man injects her with drugFrom APD: The 14 year-old girl, who was injected with heroin last Thursday by 26 year-old Sean Warner, died shortly after noon today. Prior to her death, she was only identified as “J.D.” APD has released the victim's name, but it is KTVA's policy to not name minor victims of violent crimes. There has been 4 people in Calgary die from ecstasy in as many weeks. Even with all of the warnings on the news they don't listen. Young people think they will live forever...they are invincible...

I don't have children in their teens any more but I hope what has happened to her will help at least one teen who may think the attention of an "Older Man" would make her feel like a grown up. Let's pray for family and friends of this teen and I hope justice is given to the man who did this. Too many adults think that it is ok to Party with a teen but here is the worst example of what can happen.

Sadly, not always perfect family situation. Feel bad for what family had to go through, and everything leading up to this. Doubt this was the girls first time, but the others were total fools and should be held accountable. Hopefully this whole thing will be a good lesson and wake-up call for the girl's other 'you can't tell us what to do/that will never happen to me' friends.

"justice" suggested the death penalty for dealing drugs. Is he/she crazy? The crime here was a grown man involved with a 14yr. No one really knows her story but some of these girls come from dysfunctional homes or are completely out of control. Our media glorifies certain behaviour and our children imitate it. While prosecuting and jailing people for pot, they need to legalize it and stop the flow of the real problems mainly crack, meth, and heroin. And not to blame the victim, some of these 14yr olds look and dress like grown women. I can't ever remember a man asking to see my id and I doubt it happens often now.

Everybody wants to blame everyone else look in the mirror people. We are all responsible. I'll take Jeff's comment in a different direction- if marijuana was legal, and APD and all the rest of the justice system wasn't wasting time and taxpayer dollars on this harmless drug, maybe they could actually go after the REAL problem drugs like heroin. It's as if we are so busy issuing parking tickets we don't go after the people running red lights.

if marijuana was legal and didnt have anchorage doctors shoving oxys and methadone down everyones throats maybe things would be different. and its not the parents kids will do what they want and find a way to do it no matter what. its time to shut down doctor and pharmacy workin together for "MONEY" and legalize what god truly intended us to use - marijuana

it is sad that this girl died in ignorance, and this guy was so stupid. the strength of heroin and the tolerance per individual varies - depending on iv and skin popping, but the overall issue is - was she a runaway teen? was she running from a home that was already involved with drugs only to fall right back into it? No justice will served for her death regardless. Parents are responsible for their children, but all of us who had our own rebellious stages and did whatever the hell we wanted against our parents wishes were probably lucky we didn't die experimenting with whatever under the sun with whoever. The guy obviously has issues hanging with 14 year olds, the guy obviously needs to pay the crime and do the time. Who knows, maybe this is the wake up call this guy needs to get off the drugs. Maybe he will start saving lives by sharing what he did with others in the community. HOPE, its a four letter word. Everything happens for a reason. But then there is FATE or CHANCE.

What I want to know is where this childs parents were? How and why would they let a 14 year old go out with a 26 year old? And why would he be responsible for injecting this girl when she is the one who wanted to do it in the first place? Blame the parents who are ultimately responsible for letting this child out with MEN who are over 18 anyway.Place the blame where it belongs, on the parents.

Parents do not spend the quality time with God, and their children anymore. They are left with child care providers at young ages, then their teachers that now because of the moral decay in our society have no respect for authorites,(our constitution), or even themselves. Whats right is called wrong, and whats wrong is now called right.

When my oldest daughter was that age, I had to physically restrain her from running out loose and doing whatever she wanted. She threw in my face that I couldn't keep her from doing what she wanted, and that she could call the police and I would go to jail. I threw the phone at her and told her to do it, because no one was going to tell me how to raise my kids, how to protect them, how to teach them right from wrong. I told her to do it, that yes I would go to jail, but her and her brothers and sister would then go to foster homes, where there was no guarantee that they would be able to stay together, or that they would be loved or cared for. I am not knocking foster care, but the one thing my children did know was that I loved and cared for them very much. What the issues were, was there are rules, and you don't get to do what you want to do just because your "friends" are allowed to do it. Stand up parents, bite the bullet, be parents to your children.

Any parent who tries to physically control a run away 14 year old girl will be prosecuted by the police for assault. The police could care less what the kid does until they catch the kid committing a crime. I have counselled many grieved parents who are forced to stand by and watch their 14 year old girls move from home to home, being used as sex toys by the sons of total strangers and others whom they don't know. So you might say that the police and our court judges assisted in this girl's death. The people responsible for leading us into this insanity are political activist moles from the radical left---red diaper babies from the 1960's. They have become our MASTERS. Until the people have had enough of this radical left tyranny and put an end to it, then we can wring our hands all we want to and nothing will change. Social chaos is the entended result of ANY sex revolution---because such people don't oppose tyrants. So stop complaining and oust the tyrants!

I lost a friend 2 years ago because she allowed someone to inject her with heroin,although she was an adult the loss is still felt today. It will never end until the greedy politicians make laws to prosecute those people transporting, and selling drugs. NOT!!!!

Why was a 14 year old hanging out with 20 somethings? Was she a ward of the state? Who dropped the ball with this girl? I can't wait to see if/what the new charges will be on this guy. If there aren't any charges....I don't even want to think about that.

This happens so much more than people know. Not many people know my story, but i used to do all kinds of things that no one knew about, but in the end the only person i was hurting was me. When you know someone is with an older man and is using drugs, DO THE RIGHT THING. SAVE A LIFE!! SURELY SOMEONE COULD HAVE SAVED HER'S!!!!

this is the most horrific, tragic thing anyone can go through, i cannot even imagine the amount of pain the family of this small child must be enduring, my heart is so heavy with the weight of this sad and tragic event. pray for your children others are obviously preying on them....

Now that is disgusting and sad. UNTIL we have a law for the death penalty for selling drugs,giving drugs to minors the death rate is not going to decline. This jerk needs to be strung up.Pity the family of the lost child.
