‘Hip to be Square’ week features kid-friendly fun

By Joe Vigil 9:14 PM July 21, 2014
ANCHORAGE –

If your kids say, “there’s nothing for us to do this summer,” you can answer by telling them about the big event this week in Town Square Park in Anchorage.

Starting Monday and running through Saturday, kids of all ages can participate in face painting, four square, zumba and yoga. They can also listen to live noontime music, eat pizza and hamburgers and give the hoola hoop a try.

The Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd. is bringing “Hip to be Square” week activities to Town Square.

“We wanted to showcase Town Square this week and show it a lot of love and just let everyone come down and have fun,” said Erin Westfall with the Anchorage Downtown Partnership.

Events run from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. In addition, some more yoga and live music will also be held in the evening, starting around 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. For a list of events you can check out the Anchorage Downtown Partnership website.
