Fairbanks comes roaring back to win game two
ANCHORAGE - At the beginning of the third period, anyone in the Sullivan Arena would have believed game two of this year’s Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup was going in UAA’s favor.
Two minutes into the third period, the Nanook’s Nolan Youngmun was called with “contact to the head,” putting the Seawolves into another power play. Not long after that, UAA’s Blake Tatchell found Scott Allen in the middle, who then put it in for UAA’s first lead.
Just a minute later, Seawolf Zack Rassell assisted Blake Leask to go up 4-2. Then the Nanooks went on a run. It was 50 seconds later when UAF’s Marcus Basara was assisted by Colton Parayko, which moved the Nannooks within one goal.
The Seawolves couldn’t get another goal in the third period. Fairbanks scored twice more thanks to shots from Colton Beck and Cody Kunyk, giving UAF the win 5-4.
