Iditarod officials decided to keep restart in Willow, despite poor trail conditions.
ANCHORAGE – Iditarod race veteran DeeDee Jonrowe has a few concerns about the course this year.
In spite of poor trail conditions, on Monday race officials announced the official restart would take place in Willow as usual. While Jonrowe said she’s glad to begin the Last Great Race close to home, she still has questions about the decision to keep the restart in Willow.
“I’m concerned, and I have to say it looks to me like they are ambitious with some of their plans,” Jonrowe said.
