If you don’t want to feel too crowded, you might want to consider moving to Kodiak Island.
The Kodiak Daily Mirror reports (http://is.gd/oKg0ag) a report from the state labor department expects flat growth on the island over the next three decades.
In fact, the population is only expected to increase by about 400 people – to 14,460 residents – by 2042.
Statewide, the report says the state will grow by nearly 200,000 residents by that date. Most of that growth will occur along the railbelt from Anchorage to Fairbanks.
The report still doesn’t see Alaska topping 1 million residents by 2042.
