First annual Rally in the Valley marks disc golf’s growing popularity

By Jake Edmonds 5:21 PM July 19, 2014

It’s a sports not many people know about – disc golf. But while not many have heard about it or participated in it yet, it is already becoming a popular thing to do in the summer.

The Mat-Su Disc Golf Association (MSDGA) hosted its first annual Rally in the Valley event on Saturday at the Alcantra Disc Golf Course in Wasilla. Disc golfers of all ages participated and all the proceeds for the event went towards upgrading the course to a full 18 holes.

So far, the course has been maintained and updated through volunteer work, and paid for by donations. If you would like to donate, you can email matsudga@gmail.com.

For more information, visit the club’s Facebook page.
