ANCHORAGE –

A deadly crash closed the Seward Highway near Girdwood Wednesday evening.

The one-vehicle crash near Mile 88 killed Margie Thompson, 34, of Wasilla and injured John William Martin, 42, of Anchorage, said Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters.

It was reported to authorities shortly before 8:30 p.m., when troopers said a northbound Chevy van carrying two people crossed the southbound lane and struck a guardrail.
