Fairbanks native gets Emmy nod for work on ‘Breaking Bad’

ANCHORAGE –

A Fairbanks native has received national recognition for her role in a popular drama series.

Kiira Arai Sniegowski is one of three people nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series for her work on “Breaking Bad.” The drug-fueled drama set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, wrapped up last year after five seasons.

Sniegowski grew up in Fairbanks and graduated from Monroe High School in 2003. She now works as a casting director out of New Mexico and has been with the series since the beginning.

The award show will air in August. Click here to see the nominees.
