By Hope Miller 4:35 PM May 9, 2014
ANCHORAGE –

A 37-year-old man has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting in Fairbanks Thursday, authorities said.

Chad Zurlo of Fairbanks is charged with first-degree murder after he shot and killed 51-year-old Steven Corcoran during an argument, said Alaska State Troopers in a Friday report.

Around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, troopers in Fairbanks received a 911 call that a man had been shot at an apartment complex off the Old Steese Highway north of the city, troopers said.

Troopers responded and arrested Zurlo. Corcoran was declared dead at the scene, troopers said. His next-of-kin have been notified.

The two men knew each other, according to troopers.
