Darlis Elliot with Dragon’s Last Ride stopped by the Daybreak couch Wednesday morning to discuss what the event is all about and where the organization’s name came from.
“The dragon represents pediatric sarcoma,” Elliot said. “The Dragon’s Last Ride was started in Seattle when Jenna lost her life to sarcoma at age five.”
Elliot learned about in 2012 when her daughter was in treatment for osteosarcoma while in Seattle. She did the ride with them and brought it up to Alaska the following year.
The event is a fundraiser for the Northwest Sarcoma Foundation, with Dragon’s Last Ride funding the Jenna West Home Pediatric Health Fund. It begins Saturday, August 13 at 10 a.m. at the House of Harley Anchorage.
