Kaladi Brothers is giving to the Children’s Lunchbox
ANCHORAGE - While some enjoy the first of the year off from work, the baristas at Kaladi Brothers Coffee will be making drinks without pay.
It’s an annual tradition for the Alaska-based company. For more than twenty years employees have volunteered their time Jan. 1.
One hundred percent of coffee sales go instead to a local charity. This year it’s the Children’s Lunchbox, a program that serves meals to needy children in the Anchorage area. All funds raised will be matched by Shell Alaska.
“Every year it’s super fun,” said barista Grace Spohnholz. “People look forward to it. We get people from the office that come in and help out behind the bar.”
Stop by any Wasilla or Anchorage shop to donate. Kaladi Brothers is hoping to raise more than $20,000 for the charity.
