Republican candidate Dan Sullivan is seeking the GOP nomination for the seat currently held by Democrat Mark Begich
JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) – Republican candidate Dan Sullivan has picked up the endorsement of a national conservative group in Alaska’s U.S. Senate race.
The Club for Growth PAC endorsed Sullivan Wednesday.
Club for Growth spokesman Barney Keller says the political action committee often endorses before primaries. He says the group interviewed Sullivan and found he had a record of results on “pro-taxpayer” and free-market issues.
Sullivan, a former state attorney general and natural resources commissioner, is seeking the GOP nomination for the seat currently held by Democrat Mark Begich. Begich is seeking re-election.
The other Republican candidates include Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell and Joe Miller, the GOP nominee in the 2010 Alaska Senate race.
Keller says the group will do everything it can to support Sullivan, including bundling contributions for him.
