ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- On Jan. 6, two 15-year-old boys forced their way into a Juneau Street home neighborhood and stole two laptop computers. A watchful neighbor called police and told officers which direction the boys had gone.

As police approached, the 15-year-olds threw the stolen laptops, valued at about $3,000, into a nearby creek. They were taken into custody and charged with first-degree burglary, theft and tampering with physical evidence.

This wasn't the first time they'd been in trouble: one of the juveniles had been arrested in December on a burglary charge and in August on a robbery charge.
