Police say two teenagers assaulted a man walking by the intersection of Northern Lights Boulevard and Forest Park Drive in Anchorage early this morning.

Police say the man, in his 40s, was walking near the intersection around 5 a.m. when he made a comment to two teens also walking in the area. The 16 and 17-year-old beat the man up, kicking him in the head and breaking his nose.

An off-duty cab driver saw the assault and picked the man up, which police say might have helped to save the man's life. Officers arrested two teenage suspects on the cab driver's description. Both will face felony assault charges. It's unclear whether they'll be charged as adults.
