Bison Benefits

In March, dozens of Wood Bison were introduced to their new home in the village of Shageluk, Alaska.

International bison expert Wes Olson said there is every reason to believe the herd will thrive in the new environment. In this web extra, Olson talks with reporter Lauren Maxwell about how other birds and animals benefit from bison.

KTVA followed the bison from Portage to Shageluk and will have an in-depth report and update about the relocation on Frontiers, airing Sunday, May 17.
