Baby Bison

It’s been more than a month since 100 Wood Bison were flown from the Alaska Conservation Center in Portage to the village of Shageluk. Biologists say over-all, the herd is doing well. Department staff confirmed that at least six calves have been born so far, and more are expected soon. Calving season runs from late April through mid-June.
