Boxes are filled with personal care items and holiday gifts
ANCHORAGE – Bean’s Café is celebrating with those it helps support.
Hundreds of presents are being distributed from now until Christmas. They’re called Beanie Boxes and they’re filled with personal care items and holiday gifts.
Youth groups, churches, businesses and people have been coming down to Bean’s Café with boxes for weeks.
For some, a festively wrapped Beanie Box will be the only cheer they’ll receive this Christmas.
“I don’t feel forgotten especially this time of year,” said Christopher Jamison before he received his gift.
Bean’s Café estimates around 600 boxes will be handed out.
Friday, the day shelter will host a candlelight vigil to remember those who have passed away in the Anchorage homeless community.
